2021: The Year of Arccos
After a record-breaking 2020, the game of golf sure did not take its foot off the gas when it came to growth and neither did Arccos. The numbers from 2021 show just what an incredible place that the game of golf is currently in—as it is more popular than ever before! With more programs and organizations aimed at helping introduce newbies to the sport exploding with popularity, the growth is also fueled by others coming back to the game.
With rounds being played at over 44 thousand courses in 163 countries around the world, Arccos shattered records like the number of shots recorded, rounds played and new members joining that was set last year in 2020. We launched some powerful features like Enhanced Putt Tracking and Smart Club Distances and even introduced the limited edition Arccos Caddie Black Link to continue helping improve the on-course performance of golfers of all skill levels.
Arccos Caddie members continue to show strong improvement thanks to the power of data. The average improvement for a new member is over 5 strokes! This is due in part to all the information the Arccos Caddie app churns out, which allows a member to focus on their strengths and weaknesses and create a more focused practice regiment to improve that facet of their game.

Arccos users totaled over 478 million minutes logged on the Arccos Caddie app. That is almost 910 years spent dialing in yardages using Arccos Caddie Rangefinder or 332 thousand days recapping their rounds! A good chunk of that was probably spent admiring all of those hole-in-ones that were collected in 2021, which Arccos Caddie members are 5 times more likely to get compared to the average golfer.
Were you able to check off that bucket list course this year? After looking through the Arccos data base we found the top 10 courses with the most unique players--indicating which courses were 'destinations' for many Arccos members. Looks like California was the hottest golf location in 2021 with 9/10 of the courses located in the Golden State.
What was the most played course in the world? That answer would be the Juremiah Golf Estates - Fire Course, located in Dubai, UAE, which brought in more total rounds than any other track. Some other courses that got a lot of play this year included The Els Club in Dubai, Whistle Bear Golf Club in Canada and Marina Bay Golf Course in Singapore.
